What are the benefits of completing the CAT: Advanced course?
The CAT: Advanced course is an online hybrid course worth 30 hours of professional development time. Successful completion of the course and final exam leads to the Certified Career Advisor(TM) (CA) designation by the International Association of Career Advisors (IACA).
Does this course qualify for graduate credit(s)?
Yes, students who pass the course with 85% or better are eligible to apply for two graduate credits for an additional fee of $250 USD. Graduate credits are offered from Drake University, Morningside College and Grand View University. The fee is payable through the Heartland Area Education Agency (AEA).
Does this course qualify for other licensing renewal credit(s)?
Yes, registered Iowa teachers who pass the course with 85% or better are eligible to apply for two Iowa licensing renewal credits. The current fee is $70 USD, offered by the Heartland Area Education Agency (AEA).
